Miss You Quotes

Love is missing someone whenever you're apart,
but some how feeling warm inside because you're close in heart.

Google Doodle Juan Gris' 125th birthday

Today Google is celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of legendary cubist painter Juan Gris with a beautiful cubist doodle.

Born on March 23, 1887, Jose Victoriano (Carmelo Carlos) Gonzalez-Perez was a French painter and sculptor whose works are closely connected with cubism - a revolutionary movement pioneered by Picasso and Braque.

In cubism, objects are broken and re-assembled in an abstract form. This way, multiple viewpoints of the same objects are represented. One of cubism's most distinct features is that the objects intersect at odd angles and on different planes, often creating ambiguous artwork.

Gris was born in Madrid, and studied supernatural drawing at the Escuela de Artes y Manufacturas there from 1902 - 1904. From there he shifted to Paris, where he closely followed Picasso's work. He began to earnestly paint in 1910, and by 1912 he had developed a personal Cubist style. Some of his famous works are Guitar and Pipe, Glass of Beer and Playing Cards. In fact, the guitar, fruits and newspapers in Google's doodle are recurring themes that Gris so often painted.

After suffering long and hard for 2 years, on May 11, 1927, Gris died of renal failure in Paris.
